CRIME REPORTING-COMMUNITY WATCH PARTICIPATION

Due to the increase in both daylight and evening crime on the Block (robbery of Pig, daylight theft at Daily Planet and then conversion of goods at Counterpoint, muggings with weapons, abductions from two businesses), Andrew Chadsey, manager of the Bourgeois Pig, has contacted our Senior Lead Officer to obtain his participation in the formation of a Community Watch of the area from Wilcox to Beachwood, Franklin Ave., and north of. LAPD is ready and willing to help once we get ourselves organized.

He has indicated that it is IMPERATIVE that any crimes that happen be reported to LAPD regardless of whether or not resolution is likely as the crime stats are what determines patrol units. Please encourage anyone you know to make a report if something has happened to them.

In the meanwhile, we need to know how many people are SERIOUS about participating in such a watch. This meeting will not be about complaining to the LAPD about what is going on, but about what we can do within bounds to monitor out own neighborhood, so it requires participants who would be able to actually assist in the watch.

Please let me know how many of you will be available to help with a Community Watch and able to participate in the initial meeting.
